Pension scheme

We can help you plan for the future with a choice of generous pension schemes.

Depending on which scheme you choose, you have the option to join the Local Government defined benefit Pension Scheme (LGPS) or the auto-enrolled defined contribution scheme, NOW Pensions.

Agile & flexible working

We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go.

Our Agile Working policy means that anyone with a flexible role can work from any of our offices, as well as from home or out in the community.

Sabbatical leave policy

Never had time to write that book or always wanted to travel the world?

We understand that colleagues want or need some extended leave to pursue outside interests. Our Sabbatical Policy allows any colleague to apply for up to twelve months of Sabbatical Leave after three years of service with us.

Market rate salary

We want to recruit exceptional people - and we know that we need to offer competitive salaries to do that.

NCH offers market rate salaries for all roles. We use external salary benchmarking consultants to undertake annual salary reviews to make sure we’re up to date with market changes.

Social events committee

Our Social Events team regularly plan subsidised events for colleagues and their families. Recent events and trips have included Legoland, Drayton Manor, Go Ape and buses to London and Birmingham for the Christmas markets.

The team also organise our annual Christmas party!

Our working environment

We have invested in our relaxed and modern working environments and technology. Tea and coffee is free for all colleagues and we offer free or subsidised parking for all of our offices.

Recognition awards

We run a colleague-led recognition award which encourages colleagues to recognise the achievements of their peers and celebrate the fantastic work we’ve carried out over the previous 12 months.

Decided by a staff voting system, our STAR awards provide a flexible and transparent means to recognise and reward colleagues across the association for their contributions as individuals and as part of a team.
